Have you ever felt as if you deserved more from life?
Are you frequently exhausted, stressed out, or overworked?
Have your health and vitality been compromised? Do you appear to be absolutely incapable of staying afloat? Perhaps you’re feeling as if you’re treading water. All of this can eventually wear you out. This is not what was promised to us. Perhaps you’ve always imagined a different life. Many of us imagined we would soon amass considerable wealth.

Many of us believe we should have significantly more energy than we have.
And we see people around us who appear to possess the qualities we desire. We all know folks who are polished, self-assured, and physically attractive. Everybody knows someone who appears to have it all. Therefore, why are we unable to get that? Why is life so cruel to us?
If you’ve read any of the previous guides, you’re already aware that here is where you’re going wrong.
It is blaming both your circumstances and other people. You have all you need right now to live an extraordinary life. All that is required is the appropriate mindset to accomplish it. What is even more likely? You are already enjoying an incredible life. You already possess everything that someone could desire… but you simply do not recognize it.
As we’ve seen throughout this series, your happiness and accomplishments are entirely dependent on you. Additionally, they are a result of your thinking and the way you view yourself and your life. They come from a desire to seek out and obtain the things you believe you deserve. And from knowing how you intend to accomplish that. This final guide will teach you how to make some minor adjustments.
You’re about to discover how to begin strengthening yourself against adversity. You’re going to learn to appreciate everything you already own. And you’re going to discover how to master your life so that you may choose exactly who you want to be . That is precisely what you intend to accomplish.
Which of the Following Are Your Priorities?
The first thing you should do is reevaluate some of your priorities. Many of us lament the fact that we are not healthier, happier, or wealthier, yet we never take action. That is because, despite what we say, we do not prioritize those parts of our lives. Let’s dissect your existing procedure and see if we can ascertain the source of the problem.
You’re announcing to the world that you desire six-pack abs. You’re communicating to others that you aspire to be a successful author or business owner. You tell others how much your family matters to you. That is acceptable. If that is true, then those are the activities on which you should focus the majority of your time, correct?
Rather than that, you’re more likely to discover that your lifestyle looks something like this:
6-7 hours of sleep
8-9 Hours of Work
Commuting time: about 1-2 hours
30 Minute Lunch Break
Everything else: 5 Hours
And within those about five hours, you must fit in waking up, getting dressed for the day, dishwashing, laundry, and cooking. Now re-ask me why you do not have the lifestyle you desire. You assert that your objectives and dreams are paramount, yet your actions do not reflect this in the slightest. This is eerily similar to the dilemma with contemporary politics.
So frequently, our political leaders inform us of the amount of money they have saved. They’ll explain how they improved the dollar’s value. They’ll boast about closing the deficit. However, is this the best way to measure their success? How about much more significant indicators such as quality of life? Or is it contentment?
In your own life, you’re doing the same thing . You devote 90% of your effort to your work and emerge absolutely weary. Naturally, everything else suffers as a result.
Have you ever wondered how anything came to be this way?
While the answer may not be nice, it ultimately boils down to fear and brainwashing. It’s fear, as we are frequently motivated by the dread of our partners abandoning us. By an irrational fear of debt. By worry of being unable to make a down payment on a house. Of being single in our forties and missing out on childbearing opportunities. This indicates that you are motivated more by the stick than by the carrot.
You’re more concerned with running away from everything you don’t want than with pursuing what you do want. And this is exacerbated by the media and the way we are raised. This is when the ‘indoctrination’ component comes into play. I am not a believer in conspiracies. I’m not here to tell you that this is a premeditated act by the government or anything along those lines. However, this is the way the majority of us are brought up. We are socialized to believe that we are born into debt of some type.
That we are obligated to repay this obligation to society . That is something to be proud of. Meanwhile, we are trained to desire a variety of things that are simply beyond of reach. These include widescreen televisions, opulent homes, and expensive-looking automobiles. We work toward these goals out of fear of debt and because it is what society expects of us. However, allow me to pose the following question: Is there truly intrinsic worth in work? Obviously, working for a worthwhile cause is a good thing.
Working to support your family is also commendable. However, those individuals who proudly proclaim that they have ‘never missed a day of work!’ or who retire in their 80s, or who speak proudly of their work stacking palettes. It’s admirable that they’re proud. Indeed, it is. However, here’s the terrible part: even if they didn’t come in, the world would continue to function normally without them. And even if it did not, the worst-case scenario is that a palette would be sent late.
Meanwhile, wouldn’t it have been more preferable if they had prioritized their health? What would have happened if they had spent more time with their family? If they had pursued a passion and created a work of art? Work should be a means to an end, not an end in itself. Work is only valuable if the end product is valuable. And even then, it is not worth jeopardizing your entire existence.
Lifestyle Design
The straightforward cognitive change I want you to make here is that you are not working to live, but rather living to work. Although it is a cliché, if you follow that advice to its logical conclusion, you end up with something like to lifestyle design. Lifestyle design is a way of life that essentially flips conventional conceptions of employment on its head and instead emphasizes the importance of creating a lifestyle that you enjoy.
You select what you want to do and who you want to be, and then adjust your work and other aspects of your life to accommodate that lifestyle. For many people, this will entail establishing themselves as digital nomads. We no longer need to work in stuffy offices or go vast distances to work, thanks to contemporary technologies. Rather than that, we may simply fire up the computer and work remotely.
This provides an incredible degree of flexibility, allowing you to work from anywhere and at any time. Numerous people will seize this opportunity by traveling the world with only a laptop and working from coffee shops. That is lifestyle design, and that is what it means to be a ‘digital nomad.’ However, it can also refer to something considerably more modest. It involves examining the promotion that entails so much additional responsibility and determining whether it is worthwhile.
Wouldn’t it be preferable to spend more time with your family while maintaining your current job? Alternatively, you may accept the work but negotiate one day off to give yourself a whole day to yourself. Alternatively, you may take on a part-time work and earn money on the side. Perhaps you believe that the best way to pursue your passions is to work as a garbage collector, which allows you to be free by 2 p.m. Do you require additional funds? Then downsize your home!
It may even mean that you choose to relocate closer to work in order to have a shorter commute. A shorter commute allows you to spend an additional 30 minutes every day on yourself. Perhaps you opt to hire a cleaning in order to have a lovely home! There are so many variables to experiment with here that you are not required to pick the most obvious path through life. You are not obligated to follow the road laid out for you by society, nor are you obligated to continue making life more difficult.
Additional Modifications
Choosing to construct your own lifestyle and reclaim control is one method to begin achieving your life goals. However, there are a few people who can assist you with this. One cognitive adjustment is to recognize your worth, to take a stand, and to overcome fear. Another cognitive shift is the acceptance of time and money as interchangeable concepts. This last point suggests that if you earn more money but work longer hours, you are not receiving a salary increase at all.
This would qualify as a wage increase only if you were compensated more for working the same number of hours. Therefore, if you are offered a promotion but it requires staying longer at work, there is an obvious response: you will take the wage increase. This is where self-awareness comes into play. As a result, many of us are scared to request additional funds or to increase our prices. We believe that if we do so, we will lose our jobs and become homeless. Again, overcome your fear. This does not occur.
If you provide an excellent service or are an excellent employee, you can afford to charge more.
Consider how much they gain as a result of your job and how much they would lose if you ceased to work for them.
You have the right to increase your prices. Not only that, but earnings are frequently increased regardless of job demands. Therefore, if you believe you require additional funds, do not be ashamed to request it. And what if they decline? Then you hunt for a new employer or clientele elsewhere.
As Tim Ferriss puts it, seek forgiveness rather than permission.
Finally, you are only worth what you believe you are. If you place an unreasonable value on your head, you can labor extremely hard for no benefit. Continue looking. And continue to educate yourself. Additionally, do not delay. Do not wait for life to improve. Do not wait till you are elderly and retired to begin. Because life is constantly throwing curveballs at you and the stars are never aligned. The only way to improve your life is to begin NOW. And please don’t tell me you’re too old to be the person you’ve always desired.
Therefore, if you’ve been putting off trip due to fear, opportunity, or concern that life will not be waiting for you when you return, it’s time to rethink your plans. Take command and depart immediately. This is the only direction you will ever go. Work will be waiting for you when you return. And what if it is not? At the very least, you’ve accomplished something truly noteworthy and worthwhile. What could possibly be more priceless?
It All Begins With YOU
Hopefully, some of these recommendations will assist you in obtaining more from your life simply by shifting your priorities and pursuing your desires.
Thus, where do you begin?
The answer is that it applies to everything.
This means that if you want to improve your health and happiness and overall quality of life, you must make drastic changes all at once. We’ve established that the potential to alter one’s life begins with the mind. However, have you considered how your mind is affected?
The mind is endowed with a finite amount of energy. I’ve asked a lot of you during these guides: to take on more responsibility, to overcome fear, to develop discipline, and to stay inspired. All of those activities require energy. And if you only have five productive hours outside of work, you’re going to struggle. You’ll struggle much more if you’re overworked and burnt out.
Thus, when you begin to shift the spotlight back to you. As you begin to focus on your objectives and the things that bring you joy, you may also consider how to keep yourself charged and able to make the most of life. It starts with the basics: getting enough sleep, getting out in the sun on a regular basis, and even taking vitamin supplements.
Later on, it progresses to more profound subjects, such as how to meditate. Discovering a passion. Associating with the proper people. Every facet of your health and lifestyle has an effect on how you feel and what you are capable of. You must begin modest and work your way up to the desired level of energy. You may feel confined by your circumstances right now, so seek out just that small crack of light.
That may entail gaining a little extra energy in the morning by taking a supplement. However, if this provides you with enough motivation to consider creating methods to keep your house more organized and provides you with the mental space to begin testing your work-life balance, it will all be worthwhile
Finally, and perhaps most importantly, Develop an appreciation for what you have at the moment. Because this is the supreme determinant of happiness. The reality is that if you continue to fantasize about that widescreen TV, you will never be able to leave the hedonistic treadmill. You will remain in fight or flight mode, pushing and fighting. And anticipating a vacation isn’t any better. Not much better is looking forward to quitting your job.
Do it immediately.
And, in the meantime, cultivate an awareness of what is already ideal in your life. If you take a moment to smell the roses, if you cultivate a ‘gratitude attitude,’ you’ll quickly discover how much you’ve already accomplished. And you’ll discover that your regular life is already filled with wonderful moments. Take advantage of those moments.
